Ruinart · Reims
The second face
of Chardonnay.
A return after Sunday’s lunch: a personal Chardonnay tasting, new gardens and an unforgettable 1998 magnum.

Returning to Ruinart after Sunday’s lunch carried a different emotional weight. This second visit was quieter and more personal; Florence Boubée guided us with extraordinary warmth through the house’s different interpretations of Chardonnay.

Light, tension and surprise
The 2021-based Blanc de Blancs NV was luminous and generous, while Blanc Singulier Édition 19 offered more layered tension. In Dom Ruinart 2013, the presence of Villers-Marmery drew out the blend’s energy with a sharply mineral freshness.
- Blanc de Blancs NV · 2021 base year
- Blanc Singulier Édition 19 · 2019 base year
- Dom Ruinart 2013 · the mineral edge of Villers-Marmery
- Dom Ruinart Rosé 1998 Magnum · quiet power and haunting beauty
Just when we thought the line-up had reached its conclusion, the 1998 Rosé Magnum completely transformed the moment.
The new visitor centre, gardens and carefully placed artworks revealed the house’s modern side. It became a fitting, deeply personal conclusion to the Champagne journey.
