A return to a renewed maison, followed by 2014, 2013 and Rosé 2012 in one finely constructed vertical.

I returned to Taittinger after several years. The expanded visitor centre and new restaurant give the heritage of the house a fresh frame, while the personal welcome quickly dissolved any formal distance.

Three characters of a prestige cuvée

The high point of the generous house tasting was a concise Comtes de Champagne sequence. The luminous elegance of Blanc de Blancs 2014, the deeper structure of 2013 and the expressive finesse of Rosé 2012 approached the same iconic cuvée from three directions.
