Today is Love Your Lawyer Day… and I certainly love mine! 🥰 A lovely reason to share a special bottle together this evening: Hommage à William Deutz Meurtet 2019. 🥂 Made entirely from Pinot Noir grown in the maison’s 2.4 hectare Meurtet parcel in Aÿ, this Blanc de Noirs pays tribute to William Deutz and his belief in the quality of these vineyards. The plot’s eastern exposure welcomes the morning sun, while its deep soils over chalk contribute to the finesse that makes this expression so appealing. The sunny 2019 vintage brings generous fruit, with mirabelle, apricot and yellow peach complemented by delicate spice and brioche. Silky fullness meets bright freshness and a saline finish… a beautiful expression of the elegance I so appreciate in Deutz.
